  • You only get 1 PD hour for 1 hour of course content. So, for 7 hours of whole course (all 7 parts), you will earn 7 PD hours for ECBA application.
  • For rest of PD hours, you can attend other online courses in business analysis and also claim hours spent on studying BABOK Guide.

Please note that course does not cover 50 most commonly used business analysis techniques (described in chapter 10 of BABOK guide v3.0), as it is difficult to provide explanation (with examples) for these many techniques in an online course. However, participants would be able to study use of techniques from the provided downloadable PDF file.

Please also note that the course does not cover 5 perspectives (described in chapter 11 of BABOK guide v3.0), as there shall be no questions on them in the exam (as clarified by IIBA in one of their webinars). I'm taking this course as reinforcement before taking the exam. It says the class is for all levels but I think there is somewhat an assumption that you have some level of BA experience or at least that's how it seems. There are things discussed that you have to have prior knowledge of to understand.

Trividh Patel, CBAP

Instructor response

Thank you for your feedback.

This part 2 of the course covers Business Analysis Planning and Monitoring knowledge area and hence participant’s understanding would depend on their experience working in different types of roles and business analysis initiatives. This applies to Strategy Analysis (part 5) and Solution Evaluation (part 7) knowledge areas as well.

Having said that, participants at a beginner level (those planning for ECBA exam) need not worry to understand these 3 topics in a way one would expect from a CBAP or CCBA aspirant.

You would find topics covered in other parts such as Elicitation & Collaboration (part 3), Requirement Life Cycle Management (part 4) and Requirement Analysis & Design Definition (part 6) comparatively easy to understand.

Thank you for attending all 7 parts (Part 1 - Part 7) of the IIBA Certification Course.

I already left a review for Part-1. The review for this is along those lines...Part-2 is very much aligned with the BABOK and I plan to go over all parts and then read the BABOK guide thoroughly before reviewing these videos again. This was a good investment.

★★★★★

Yes. It helps me see where professional education and experience in related fields fits within the BA framework and supplies the vocabulary specific to BA which will enable me to better represent that experience in various contexts. It has also helped me identify areas where I need to be more specifically informed and possibly acquire additional skill. It's a very valuable self-assessment experience.

Trividh Patel, CBAP

Instructor response

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and wonderful feedback.

I'm new to BA, so it is taking me some time to digest the information. However, the presenter is covering the course in a methodical, logical manner. This helps me a lot in seeing the big picture.
